Suaron Sachet (Nimesulide)
Suaron Sachet contains active ingredient Nimesulide. This is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase- 2 ( COX- 2). It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect, decreases edema and inflammatory pain. It also inhibits the synthesis of enzymes that destroy cartilage (collagenase, stromelysin, elastase).
Nimesulide is used only to treat adult patients. To prepare suspension take one sachet and solve it in a glass of water, stir until dissolved. Take it after meals. The usual dose is one sachet two times a day, in morning and evening. The dose may be increased to 200 mg (2 sachet), 2 times per day and depends on patient and effectiveness of treatment. Dose for elderly patients should be reduced and corrected.
Inform your doctor if you have problems with blood clotting, if you take anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, suffer with renal failure, heart problems. If you had problems with vision during treatment with NSAID in history. Cautiousness is necessary when it is prescribed to elderly patients.
Do not take this medicine if you are hypersensitive to it or components of the drug, have hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs, suffer with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in acute phase, have moderate or severe liver or kidney dysfunction, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible side effect
Suaron Sachet usually well tolerated. However, sometimes these side effects may occur: discomfort in epigastric area, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, skin rash, erythema, urticaria, pruritus, decreased urination (oliguria), accompanied by accumulation of fluid and local or diffuse tissue edema. It should be taken into consideration that nimesulide like other NSAIDs can cause Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell syndrome, and anaphylactoid reactions.
Use cautiously when Nimesulide is coadministered with nimesulide anticoagulants, diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, hypoglycemic agents, digoxin, phenytoin, lithium therapy, other NSAIDs , cyclosporine, methotrexate.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
In case of overdose use treatment which depends on symptoms (gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal). Seek for medical help.
Store the medicine at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
