Enalapril H (Enalapril Maleate/hydrochlorthyazide)
This medicine is used to treat hypertension. Enalapril H contains enalapril maleate and hydrochlorthyazide. The first is ACE inhibitor, it lowers blood pressure and also relieves symptoms of fluid retention. The second is a thiazide diuretic and doesn’t allow your organism to absorb too much salt and accumulate excessive fluid.
Take 1-2 tablets per day. Dose should always be defined by your doctor depending on your susceptibility to the medicine. For most patients, 50 mg of hydrochlorothiazide a day is enough, so do not take more than 2 tablets of Enalapril H daily. If the patient is already taking diuretics, it is recommended to stop or reduce their dose for at least three days before to start treatment with Enalapril H tablets in order to prevent rapid decrease of blood pressure. Treatment is not limited in time.
Do not take Enalapril H if you are pregnant or have problems with kidneys. If you have diabetes, do not use this medicine with medications which contain aliskiren (Tekamlo, Valturna, Amturnide, Tekturna).
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, angioedema in history, severe renal dysfunction and liver during pregnancy (especially II and III trimester) and breastfeeding, age under 14 years.
