Lisinocor H (Lisinopril+ Hydrochlorthyazidu0435)
Lisinocor H contains Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide. The first is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. ACE inhibitors stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. It is used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and to improve survival after it. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic and has also antihypertensive effect. The combination of hydrochlorothiazide and lisinopril is characterized by a stronger hypotensive effect than each component separately.
Dosage is prescribed individually by your doctor. In general initial dose to treat hypertension is 1 tablet taken once a day, if necessary 2 tablets are taken once a day. If the medicine administered to the patients who took diuretics, a break of 2-3 days before is needed before to start treatment with Lisinocor H. Effect can be noticed after 2 to 4-weeks of the treatment. In therapy of chronic heart failure Lisinocor H should be taken from low dose, maintenance dose is one half of a tablet taken one a day.
If you have kidney failure, inform you doctor about it. Initial and maintenance doses are determined on the basis of your creatinine clearance value and level of sodium and potassium in blood plasma). Take this medicine once a day in the morning, before or after a meal, preferably at the same time.
Before to start treatment with Lisinocor H it is necessary to compensate loss of fluids and salts as risk of hypotension increases. Caution is necessary in treatment of patients with impaired renal function, aged patients and ones treated with antidepressants.
This medicine cannot be prescribed to pregnant and breastfeeding women, children, patients with hypersensitivity to the medicine, patients who have angioedema if they were treated with an ACE inhibitor was used before, ones with renal artery or aortic stenosis, or ponounced renal dysfunction.
Possible side effect
Side effects of these medicine include dizziness, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dry cough, hypotension, chest pain, tachycardia, skin rash, angioedema, weakness, pain in joints.
Co-administration of this medicine with potassium increases risk of increased potassium (especially in patients with impaired renal function). Therefore, this combination is prescribed with caution. Concomitant use with diuretics or antihypertensive agents increases their antihypertensive effect. NSAIDs (for example indomethacin) decrease antihypertensive effect of Lisinocor H. Lisinocor H exacerbates effects of ethanol. Simultaneous administration with lithium decreases excretion of lithium from the body.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose symptoms may include hypotension, giddiness or sickness. Treatment procedures are directed to restoring of fluid and electrolyte balance.
Store your medicines at room temperature 15-30 C (59-86 F). Store away from moisture and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
