Thrombaspin (Acetylsalicylic Acid)
Thrombaspin lowers blood clotting due to the reduction of platelet aggregation. Using of coated tablets prevents the absorption of acetylsalicylic acid in the stomach and reduces risk of ulcers.
Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. To treat unstable angina, after operations on the vessels, to prevent transient ischemic attacks and strokes in clinical precursors take 100-300 mg of Trombaspin. Better use a dose of 100 mg a day. For acute myocardial infarction recommended dose is 100 mg of Trombaspin a day. To prevent a recurrent myocardial infarction the recommended dose is 300 mg a day. To prevent coronary artery thrombosis in patients with multiple risk factors, to treat migraine the recommended dose is 100-200 mg a day or 300 mg of the medicine every other day.
Trombaspin should be taken after a meal, swallowed whole without chewing, with a small amount of water. Duration of therapy is determined by your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant. Caution is needed when it is prescribed to patients with impaired renal or hepatic function, hypersensitivity reactions to NSAIDs in history, bronchial asthma, erosive and ulcerative and inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Do not take this medicine if you are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid and other salicylates, suffer with hemorrhagic diathesis, have tendency to bleed, or have bleeding disorder hemophilia, erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute stage.
Possible side effect
Allergic reactions are possible (bronchospasm, skin rash). You can also experience pain in the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting, local bleeding in gastrointestinal system anemia, iron deficiency anemia (caused by occult bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract). In general Trombaspin is well tolerated (due to the low content of acetylsalicylic acid in the formulation) . Side effects are rare. If you have any of them, seek for medical help.
Simultaneous intake of Trombaspin enhances effect of anticoagulants, NSAIDs, hypoglycemic agents, methotrexate. Co-administration with glucocorticoids and ethanol increases possibility of ulcers and risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Trombaspin weakens the effect of diuretics (spironolactone, furosemide), antihypertensive drugs and drugs controlling secretion of uric acid (probenecid, sulfinpyrazone ).
If necessary take these medicines at least 1-3 hours after Trombaspin.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Seek for medical help if you took too much of this medication. Avoid taking too much of this medication.
Store the medicine at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
